“SINS OF ASHE COUNTY” TO HOLD AUDITIONS IN AYDEN
Auditions For The Much Anticipated Indie Film “Sins of Ashe County” Starring Mike Minter And Christopher “Play” Martin, Are Coming To Ayden

Producers of the much anticipated Indie film “Sins of Ashe County” by Ms. Michaela Kelleher are holding auditions for speaking and non-speaking roles Saturday December 12, 2009, from 11am-4pm, at the Ayden Art’s and Recreation Community Center, located at 4354 Lee Street, Ayden NC 28513. Producers are also looking for singers to audition as well. Singers are asked to prepare a short audition piece for the soundtrack and actors are asked to bring a headshot or recent photo and resume. For details, contact the film’s producers at pelonada@gmail.com.

Will Banks shot his uncle Frank McMillan in 1905 at Coxes Grove Baptist Church in Ashe County NC, over $1.50. That was a lot of money back then and Frank threatened to kill Banks if he didn’t leave him alone about it. Tempers flared one Sunday afternoon and Banks shot Frank in self-defense. Realizing he wouldn’t get a fair trial in Ashe County, Banks fled to Canada. He was caught and extradited back to Ashe County by Sheriff Ambrose Clark. Banks was tried and convicted of first degree murder for defending himself. He was executed on August 22, 1907. For more information please visit www.soac2.com.

The film stars Christopher “Play” Martin from Kid n Play, Mike Minter, former Carolina Panther and Lee Perkins from the recent film called The Red Machine. Two native Pitt County residents also play lead roles in the film. Locations for the film have already been determined and producers hope to bring jobs and recognition to the area.
