Cucalorus Film Festival convenes "State of the State", a critical discussion with leaders from the North Carolina film industry on Thursday, November 12th from 6:00PM-8:00PM. This is your annual opportunity to get an insider's update on the business and legislative side of filmmaking. Will the industry make a big come back in 2010? Will the new 25% film incentive have a major impact on production in Wilmington? Find out what our film industry leaders have to say about that and more at this year's State of the State.The festival opens its arms wide to invite everyone in the Wilmington community from film professionals to aspiring actors to the casual observer to attend this engaging and informative event. The State of the State panel includes Johnny Griffin (Wilmington Regional Film Commission), Bill Vassar (Screen Gems Studios), Aaron Syrett (N.C. Film Office), Lou Buttino (UNCW Film Studies), Kelly Tenney (production coordinator for One Tree Hill, Southern Gothic Productions), and Senator Julia Boseman. Actor Peter Jurasik will moderate. The State of the State panel will be held Thursday, November 12 from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the Thalian Hall Ballroom. A reception from 7:00PM-8:00PM will follow with tasty tidbits from Tidal Creek Coop and Cabot Cheese Creamery, wine, as well as beverages from Coca Cola. For more information go to www.cucalorus.org
